The average American throws away about 37 kg/81 lb. of clothes each year.

Reduce
“The first “R” can make the largest, most positive impact on the environment. If we reduce what we use, the energy, water, and resources that normally would go into making the product would never be expended. The thought process is to cut back on what we purchase and use only what is needed.”

Inspiration
These are both pieces of work that I have done in the past that I wanted to continue exploring in this inquiry. Using forms of repetition and themes of overconsumption, I wanted to create a poster series on the damage consumerism can do to our world
Process
I used colored pencil to sketch my initial ideas, emphasizing the use of repetitive form to create a sense of claustrophobia.
Final Posters
Combining my sketches with thought provoking text and statistics to create a final image.
